This was such a great idea for a story. The devil tricks the ghost rider aka Johnny Blaze to thinking he's trapped in Hell, but Johnny escapes! However, the Devil escapes with him and upon entering the realm of the living he is broken into 666 pieces that fall across planet Earth.

Terrific, grim and ghastly artwork that matches the storyline perfectly. Ghost Rider is a unique character who made a horrible decision that destroyed his entire life and soul. The storyline is above average but the artwork is where this book really shines. The gothic horror feel that is presented in this book was a real pleasure to read.
This is basically a nineteen issue-long episode of Tom and Jerry with Lucifer as the fun-loving mouse capable of immense destruction and Ghost Rider playing the role of the more serious-minded cat on the hunt.
If you like Ghost Rider, chances are you'll really dig this. If you're not a fan of the character, and sometimes it seems like most people aren't, stay away. Seriously, avoid this collection. Like I said, it's nineteen issues and if you don't find the absurdities inherent in the Ghost Ride...more

I never avoided Ghost Rider comics or the movies. I never had the chance to read or view any of them.
And then I got my hands on this baby....
And it was worth the wait...
Ghost Rider is now my favorite hero... Or should I say anti-hero?

I've never read a Ghost Rider comic or graphic novel before. Loved the movies, though. This was the beginning for me, and it was quite an adventure. Ghost Rider takes on the Devil in this graphic novel, destroying cities and lives in the process. The art was good and the storyline was okay, but it was definitely a fun read.
The plot for the series is fascinating. Ghost rider comes back to earth, entering whole, but dragging the devil. Art is done by Texeira, Corben, Suydam amongst other greats. The story flows seamlessly over four main subplots. A brilliant run, and perfect jumping point for anyone looking to enjoy Ghost Rider at his best!
This 19 issue series is your typical Ghost Rider. Making deals, blowing stuff up, lots of fire and vengeance and chains. Some issues were better than others, and the art was alright throughout.
Overall, every once in a while, I like to read a comic that feels closer to a summer action film: not much story, but plenty of chaos and explosions. :)
Recommend for GR fans.
